Have not seen it mentioned yet by a fund... Years ago, I did a cement plant manager search (the client wanted to try and localize the role). Very interesting business and generally an oligopoly everywhere with some local players in each country e.g. the big global cement players have an informal agreement not to poach each other's employees... Also, cement plant managers are very hands on (they have to know all the equipment and get dirty when necessary) and don't live very long - all that cement dust is not good for their health! 😀
Lafarge, Cemex and Holcim sort of control the global cement trade - they are often invested in local players as well... Another fun industry is glass bottles-packaging e.g. globally, Owens Illinois literally controls it directly or indirectly 😀
nice article on Technoglass! A forgotten EM Adr! Do you have thoughts on Cementos Pacasmayo?

Some sort of oligopoly but with cyclical element. I am looking into it.
